2022 Buffalo Bills Training Camp Dates, Schedule and Location

Teams across the NFL are preparing for the 2022 regular season with the start of training camp. The Buffalo Bills are one of the first teams to step onto the field as preseason approaches.

Here’s everything Bills fans need to know about this year’s training camp.

Each team has two separate start dates for training camp, as rookies often have to report a few days before veterans. The Bills and Las Vegas Raiders have the earliest starts of teams in the entire league, with rookies reporting Monday, July 18.

Then on Saturday, July 23, Buffalo’s veterans will be assigned to report for training camp. This gives the vets a little less than a month to prepare for the team’s first preseason game on August 13.

The Bills will make their much-anticipated return to St. John Fisher College for training camp this year. Buffalo has not held any off-season celebrations there since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bill’s rookies report for training camp on July 18th, followed by the vets on July 23rd. Buffalo is then scheduled to host open drills through Thursday, August 11. This will be the last day of training before the preseason starts.

Buffalo opens its preseason game schedule against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, August 13. They will then play again on August 20 (against the Denver Broncos) and August 26 (with the Carolina Panthers) before the regular season begins.

The Bills take on the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, September 8 to start week one.

First-year players like cornerback Kaiir Elam and running back James Cook will report to Buffalo for training camp on Monday. The team’s first practice session is scheduled for Sunday, as the veterans will arrive no later than Saturday.

Elam was one of the standouts from the Bills’ minicamp in June, and he’ll be looking to continue that game ahead of his rookie year. There will also be plenty of focus on third-year Gabriel Davis as he heads towards a possible breakout season.
