The French Open will be broadcast live on NBC Sports, Peacock Premium and Tennis Channel from Sunday up to championship points at Roland Garros in Paris.

NBC and Peacock will broadcast live coverage of the first day of the main draw this Sunday, the entire three-day Memorial Day weekend, and the women’s and men’s singles semifinals and finals June 2-5.

Rafael Nadal, a record 13-time French Open champion, is not emerging as the men’s clear favorite after failing to win a clay-court preparatory tournament for the first time since 2015, not counting 2020 cut short by the pandemic. The 35-year-old has also been dealing with persistent foot pain.

Instead, defending champion Novak Djokovic is the slight favorite over the 19-year-old compatriot Carlo Alcaraz, according to PointsBet Sportsbook. Djokovic is targeting a 21st Grand Slam singles title to tie Nadal for men’s record.

Alcaraz, who was the same age as Nadal when Nadal won his first French Open, has won his last two tournaments, including beating Nadal and Djokovic on consecutive days on May 6th and 7th.

First of all Iga Swiatek from Poland is the overwhelming women’s favorite and is on a 28-game winning streak, the longest on the WTA Tour since 2013. Swiatek broke through to win the 2020 French Open, then last month she rose to Australia for the first time at No. 1 in the ranking up Ash Barty retired.

Triple French Open winner Serena Williamswho last played at Wimbledon last June, will miss Roland Garros for the first time since 2017. It is not known if or when the 40-year-old will play again.
