2022 Marion Popcorn Festival Main Stage entertainment program

MARION – The main stage of the 41stSt The annual Marion Popcorn will feature three nights of free live entertainment downtown September 8-10, including a group currently featuring Nr Marion.

KATMANDU, MICHIGAN’S PREMIER BOB SEGER TRIBUTE BAND, will open this year’s entertainment on the main stage on Thursday 8th September.

The members of Katmandu, a Bob Seger tribute band, sing, perform and play in sync as if they had been together their entire musical careers. Over the course of the band’s union, they have won the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life; Appearances in various places, many public appearances. Band members include Lonnie Fletcher – lead vocals, Eric Kot – sax, Kirk Nelson – lead guitar, Greg Simmerlein – bass, Tom Mulawka – drums and Dan McCarthy – piano and keyboards.

LITA FORD will wrap up the Mainstage entertainment on Saturday, September 10th.

  • Lita Ford’s career began in 1975 as a founding member and guitarist of the groundbreaking all-female group The Runaways. The group’s hard rock/punk edge spawned hits like “cherry bomb” and “Queens of Noise“. Lita and the Runaways proved their timelessness in 2014 when “Cherry Bomb” starred in the critically acclaimed hit Marvel/Disney Studios film “Guardians of the Galaxy” and was nominated for a Grammy Award.
  • In 1983 Lita started her career as a solo artist with her debut album “Out for Blood” to establish her as the leading female performer in rock and heavy metal. In 2018 we celebrated the 30thth anniversary of the self-titled multi-platinum “Lita” Released February 2ndand, 1988 the “Lita” The album boasted four chart-hitting singles. “Back to the Cave”, “Falling in Love and Falling Out of Love” (written with Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx) along with the worldwide mega hits “Kiss Me Deadly”nominated for MTV Video Music Awards Best Female Video of the Year and Certified Gold Ballad Single “Close My Eyes Forever” with Ozzy Osbourne, who stayed in the Billboard Top 10 for 25 weeks.

Each night’s headliner will perform at 8:30pm, followed by an opening band at 6pm (to be announced later) and sponsors’ appreciation during the festival’s opening ceremony.

The 2022 Marion Popcorn Festival dates are September 8th, 9th and 10th. All performances on the main stage of the festival are free. Other events and activities include the 300+ unit Popcorn Parade, the return of the festival’s 5K and golf outings, an expanded arts show, crafts and vendors, a corn hole tournament, the Community Showcase Stage and a Poppin’ Party stage Beer Garden, the new Popcorn Matinee musical performance at the historic Marion Palace Theater and more.
