Berk’s churches plan services and other events

• Grace Lutheran Church, 30 Liberty St., Shillington will worship in person with Holy Communion on Sunday at 9:30 am. The pianists Nancy Kennedy and Sylvia Klett offer special music. The service will be available online beginning at 11:45 am at

• The United Church of Christ in Robesonia prays Sunday at 10:15 am in person, via YouTube and by phone at 301 W. Penn Ave. See and for details. • Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto will celebrate Holy Communion service on Sunday at 9am. Coffee & Conversation takes place at 8:30 am in the Welcome Center and then again after the service.

• Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township, will worship on Sunday at 9:30 am with Holy Communion and the Reformation Summer Choir. The service will be streamed live on Facebook and can be viewed live or later at under Worship Videos. After the service there is a time together, a time for refreshment and conversation.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, holds Sunday services at 9:30 am. Livestream worship continues on YouTube (St. John’s ELC Boyertown). Free passage, takeaway every Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. No registration required.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 4125 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, holds personal services with Holy Communion and special music on Sundays at 9 am. Masks are optional. The service will also be streamed live on Facebook. Following the service there will be fellowship and refreshments in the Fellowship Hall.

• St Peter’s United Church of Christ of Molltown, 219 Maidencreek Road, Richmond Township, will pray in the grove at 10:15 am on Sundays, weather permitting. Reading a cappella voices offers special music. Bring a deck chair. After the service there will be a pot luck lunch.

• Bern Reformed United Church of Christ, 3196 Bernville Road, Bern Township, offers live worship on Sundays at 9:30 am with communion in the pews. You can also participate with your vehicle in the parking lot via an FM 87.9 broadcast or on Facebook.

• The Black Forest Lutheran Church, 250 Church Lane Road, Exeter Township, will pray in person with Holy Communion on Sunday at 9.30am.

• St. John’s Gernant’s Church (A Federated Congregation), 13 Gernant’s Church Road, Ontelaunee Township, prays with Holy Communion on Sunday at 9:30 am in the Memorial Hall, 12 Gernant’s Church Road, which is handicapped accessible. Featured music will be a solo by Sondra Barth-Delp (“The Only Real Peace”). The musician will be Shirley Breininger. An al fresco Vespers service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. under the pavilion, weather permitting, otherwise in the Memorial Hall. Bring your own chairs. Holy Communion is offered.

• Black Forest United Church of Christ 75 Church Lane Road, Exeter Township will hold an in-person and Zoom service on Sunday at 10:30am. It will also be available on YouTube. For more information, visit

• Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading, will hold a personal, lay-led morning prayer service from the Book of Common Prayer on Sunday at 9am. Following the service, breakfast will be held in the parish hall. Masks are optional. Parking is available in the Abe Lincoln parking garage and the M&T Bank parking lot, both on Washington Street. Parking spaces are available next to the church for people with disabilities or those in need of assistance. • Kissinger’s Church, 715 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, will hold a prayer meeting Wednesday at 4:00 pm. The public is invited to participate, submit prayer requests, and pray for others.

• St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood, will have two services in the sanctuary at 9:00 am and 10:30 am, both with communion. • St. John’s (Hain’s) United Church of Christ, 591 N. Church Road, Lower Heidelberg Township, will have their picnic at the Grove next Saturday. The kitchen opens at 4 p.m. Entertainment by Dave Kline and the Mountain Folk Band, music starts at 4:30pm. Pork barbecue and chicken barbecue sandwiches, soup, fries and burgers, as well as desserts and ice cream are on offer.
