
Josh Prock, West Texas A&M’s head women’s basketball coach, has announced a change in the schedule for Thursday and Friday summer basketball camps at First United Bank Center.
The Position & Shooting Camp was originally planned for split sessions on Thursday and Friday. However, these two camps have now been combined into three-hour sessions from 9am to 12pm. Open to grades 6-12, the camp is a great opportunity for young local players to develop their skills.

The Lady Buffs will also be hosting their Elite Camp at FUBC on August 6th, which will be open to high school-level players. Camp runs from 9am to 4pm and costs $95 per player including lunch.

WT Director of Athletics Michael McBroom has announced the hiring of WT alumni Josh Ducheneaux as the new Deputy Director of Sports Communications.
“We are excited to welcome Josh back home to Canyon and West Texas A&M,” said Brent Seals, Director of Athletic Communications. “Our coaches and student-athletes deserve high-quality coverage and support. Josh is a perfect fit as a passionate alum who has a bright future in collegiate athletics.”
Ducheneaux returns to Canyon after a year as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Kenyon College, an NCAA Division III institution in Gambier, Ohio, where he was involved in covering all 22 sports for the Owls. During his time at Kenyon, Josh served as the official statistician at home events while developing strong relationships with coaches and student athletes.

Josh served as a student assistant in WT’s communications department during the 2020-21 campaign, doing play-by-play and public address broadcasts for baseball, softball and football. He also worked at the Virgil Henson Activity Center and hosted/produced the 2 Minute Drill on KWTS 91.1 FM.
“Canyon has always been my home and I used to go to WT games with my family,” said Ducheneaux. “I look forward to continuing to support WT Athletics, this time from a new perspective.”
A Canyoner by birth, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Digital Communications from West Texas A&M in May 2021 and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Sports Management at Texas A&M University.
