Check out some free movies all over Hudson County this summer

The start of summer brings with it the opportunity to see movies for free outside and inside throughout Hudson County.

The Bayonne Public Library is offering a series of free afternoon and evening summer films on Wednesdays July 6 to August 31 at 1pm and 6:30pm in the O’Connor Gallery on the library’s second floor. The building is located at 31st St. and Ave. C

All films planned for the library have been released in the last two years. The range of films includes films for adults in the afternoon and films for children and families in the evening. Young people who visit the children’s films must be accompanied by an adult. No children are allowed to see R-rated films.

Films shown on Wednesdays include: 1 p.m. afternoons: including “Marry Me” (July 6, rated PG-13), “Silent Night” (July 13, N/A), ” The Eyes of Tammy Faye” (July 20, PG-13), “A Journal for Jordan” (July 27, PG-13), “Memory” (August 3, R), “Moonfall” (August 10 , PG-13), “Firestarter” (Aug 17, R), “Death on the Nile – 2002” (Aug 24, PG-13), “House of Gucci” (Aug 31, R) .

Evening movies at 6:30 p.m. include Turning Red (July 6, PG), Spider-Man: No Way Home (July 13, PG-13), Sing 2 (July 20, PG ), “Dog” (July 27, PG-13), “Encanto” (August 3, PG), “The Bad Guys” (August 10, PG), “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” (17 August, PG-13), “Clifford – The Big Red Dog” (August 24, PG), “The Lost City” (August 31, PG-13).

Jersey City’s Exchange Place Alliance is also joining in the Movies on the Pier fun, which began in June and takes place Fridays at sunset on J. Owen Grundy Pier. The films are free and audiences can bring their own chairs. Food and drinks are available for purchase.

The July and August schedule at the Pier includes: Minions (July 1), The Secret Life of Pets (July 8), The LEGO Movie (July 15), Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” (July 22), “How to Train Your Dragon” (July 28), “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” (August 5), “The Smurfs” (July 12) August). ), “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” (August 19) and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” (August 26).

North Bergen also kicks off its summer movie season on June 28th at Policemen’s Park with a screening of Paw Patrol: The Movie. Popcorn and water will be available at every performance every Tuesday night through August.

Upcoming are: “Encanto” (July 5 at the Recreation Center, 6300 Meadowview Ave.), “Luca” (July 12 at Paterson Plank Road Park), “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” (July 19 at the Kennedy Branch Library, 2123 Kennedy Blvd.), “Sing 2” (July 26 at 88th Street Park between Durham & Grand Ave.), “The Bad Guys” (August 9 at Nutrition Center, 1441 45th St.), “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” (August 16 at the Main Library, 8411 Bergenline Ave.), “The Addams Family 2” (August 23 at 28th Street Park, 28th St. and Grand Ave.) and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (August 30 at Bruin Stadium, James J. Braddock Park).

The North Bergen Summer Film Series also includes free BBQs with the films on June 28th, July 5th, July 26th and August 30th. Rain dates for all films are scheduled for the following day if necessary.

Secaucus’ “Movies in the Park” series begins June 28 with “Spider-Man: No Way Home” at 8 p.m. on the HCT Tennis Court. The remainder of the program takes place at 7:30 p.m. on the ice rink at Buchmuller Park , 150 Plaza Center, held: “Sponge Bob on the Run” (July 5), “Clifford – The Big Red Dog” (July 12), “Sing 2” (July 19), “Addam’s Family 2” ( July 26), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (August 2), Jungle Cruise (August 9), Cruella (August 16), Ghostbusters Afterlife (August 23) and “Encanto” (30 Aug).

Hoboken will host demonstrations at Pier A Park on First Street and Sinatra Drive, as well as 7th and Jackson. All films start at 9pm in June and July and 8:30pm in August.

The Movies Under the Stars schedule for 7th & Jackson Park is as follows: Wednesday, July 20, “Soul”; Wednesday, August 3rd, “Frozen 2”.
