Ousmane Dembele is still considering his future but his agent is aware of Chelsea’s interest. football.london understands. The France international could soon become a free agent as his contract with Barcelona expires at the end of next month.
Dembele was a target for the Blues during the January transfer window but no contact has been made with the winger, Thomas Tuchel confirmed in February. “I had no contact with Ousmane. There was no contact in the winter,” said the Chelsea boss.
Now that the summer window is approaching, Chelsea could reignite their interest in the 25-year-old wide man. The Blues are closely monitoring Dembele’s situation and are expected to resume talks with his representatives sometime this summer. The Frenchman hasn’t made a decision yet football.london was told.

His agent Moussa Sissoko recently discussed his client’s future. He told GOAL: “Ousmane’s future remains open and we will not get into endless speculation.
“When the time comes, Ousmane will choose the best option. We are and always have been very respectful of all clubs and will continue to do so as long as the process lasts. When the time comes, Ousmane will consider what is the best option for his Future.”
Dembele is one of numerous attacking options Chelsea are considering ahead of the summer window. football.london also understands that the Blues have a long-term interest in RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku.
Raphinha and Neymar have also been linked but Dembele could make the most sense considering he’s likely available for a free transfer. It is understood that a defender – Jules Kounde in particular – is high on the club’s priority list.
Chelsea will no longer be sanctioned after the club announced Todd Boehly and the consortium of Clearlake Capital are now the new ownership group. A tweet from Nigel Huddleston read: “The sale of @ChelseaFC is now complete – a huge relief to Chelsea fans across the country and indeed the world.
“The acquisition means the club are no longer subject to the sanctions imposed on Roman Abramovich and can look ahead to secure a long-term future. I am aware of the Boehly Clearlake consortium who have worked with @ChelseaFC fans throughout the sale process and am also committed to representing fans in the governance of the club – in line with our fan-led review of football governance. I look forward to hearing more about their plans.”
