The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a massive franchise, but it’s expected to get a lot bigger in Phase 4. This is partly thanks to Disney acquires 20th Century Foxwhich allowed for heroes like the Fantastic Four, X-Men and Deadpool finally join the MCU. There has been a lot of talk about how R-rated hero by Ryan Reynolds is translated into a shared universe upcoming Marvel movieand now dead pool 3‘s writer has teased how the superhero flick will poke fun at Marvel movies.
Ryan Reynolds’ comedic skills take center stage Dead Pool franchise as he constantly breaks the fourth wall and enjoys making fun of properties X-Men, the DCEU and the MCU. But now that he actually joins the latter cinematic universe, he’ll be able to directly interact with characters while teasing them. dead pool 3 Co-author Rhett Reese recently appeared on the Post Credit Podcast (opens in new tab), where he explained how fun it will be to poke fun at the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As Reese put it:
How many films did they give us? 25? 26? 28? Something like that. We now have a treasure trove of things to poke fun at. And Deadpool is equal [opportunist] so fair game for all.
Well, color me stoked. It sounds like no one is safe when Ryan Reynolds’ foul-mouthed anti-hero finally comes to the MCU on the big screen. While fans already have Waited years for the long-awaited threesome To finally get production started, it might be worth the wait to see the Merc with the Mouth in all its meta glory.
Rhett Reese’s comments come as he promotes his new Netflix movie spider head with Chris Hemsworth. Finally, the conversation turned to his work with Paul Wernick dead pool 3. With the first two films being produced in such quick succession, fans are excited to return to the R-rated property. Unfortunately, there is currently no release date or filming schedule for the upcoming Threequel. Although the production team gets together, including director Shawn Levy.
While Rhett Reese made sure to keep his cards close to his chest in terms of the MCU events/characters that will be poke fun at throughout dead pool 3, he offered a little tidbit about how Ryan Reynolds’ signature character will walk through the shared universe. As the zombie land filmmaker put it,
I think it offers a wonderful opportunity for fish out of the water. Deadpool is mad at the center of a movie. Usually the crazies are the secondary characters and the protagonist is reasonably sane. In our film, it’s the other way around. So to throw a madman into a very sane world, it’s just plain butter. It’s going to be great fun.
Ryan Reynolds taking a break from acting better not take too long as comments like this show just how awesome Deadpool could be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While this massive franchise generally takes itself pretty seriously, the mercenary with the mouth is sure to make a narrative shift. Let’s just hope he still can have his R-rated sense of humor in dead pool 3 and beyond.
The next installment in the MCU is Thor: Love and Thunder on July 8th. In the meantime, check out these Theatrical release dates 2022 to plan your next movie experience.
