Deliveries of the blue lid food bins and recycling bins are underway, however due to several factors delivery is currently behind schedule.

Rubbish bins with green, gray and blue lids and red recycling boxes in a house in the Warwick Borough.

Delivery of food containers is being given priority and the council has said it is working hard to deliver all of these by August 1st.

The delivery of recyclables bins for the objects that have a recyclables collection next week will be delivered with priority.

All waste will continue to be collected even if the new bins have not yet arrived.

If you haven’t received an information book or calendar, you can check the collection dates and timetables on the municipality’s website.

The Council’s app can also be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play, the collection dates can be found there from August 1st.

If you haven’t received your food trolley: Leftovers can be temporarily placed in the green garden waste bin if you have subscribed to collection from August 1st.

Otherwise, food waste can be disposed of in the gray bin until the food truck arrives.

If you haven’t received your recyclables bin yet: Priority will be given to objects that will have a recyclables collection next week.

Households that have not received it by the time they collect it can still use their red boxes to show off their recycling.

It does not need to be sorted for collection.

Those who have their bin with a blue lid but have extra recycling can use their red bins to dispose of the extra recycling.

Councilwoman Moira-Ann Grainger, portfolio owner for the City Council for Neighborhood and Leisure, said: “This is a huge new contract and unfortunately we have been hit by delays in our deliveries.

“I wanted to make sure we were keeping our residents informed and to assure you that collections will continue and you will be receiving your new bins and caddies as soon as possible.

“We appreciate the patience and understanding of our residents as we work quickly to get this new service up and running. We will update our website and social media regularly to keep everyone informed.

“We know not everyone has access to the internet, so we’re asking you all to check in with your neighbors to keep them updated and let them know what’s happening.”
