The second season of India Today Gaming’s Esports Premier League is set to start soon. Registration for the open qualifiers will begin in the coming days. ESPL Season 2 will feature Krafton’s BGMI as the game for the tournament. As we near the registration window, here is the full roadmap, schedule and format for ESPL Season 2.

ESPL 2 begins with open qualifiers followed by invitational qualifiers. Open qualifiers feature teams registered for the tournament, while India’s popular esports teams compete in invitational qualifiers. The top 2 teams from open qualifiers and the top 10 teams from invitational qualifiers advance to ESPL Season 2.

Wildcard qualifiers begin after open qualifiers and invitational qualifiers. Wildcard qualifiers give 3-10 ranked teams from open qualifiers and 11-18 ranked teams from invitation qualifiers a chance to return to the tournament.

The tournament will start after the qualifiers and the BGMI esports teams would compete against each other for glory. Esports Premier League Season 2 has a total prize pool of Rs 1 crore and the winning team will receive Rs 50 lakhs.

Registration window: June 15th to June 20th

Open Qualifiers: June 21 – July 1

Invitational Qualifiers: July 2nd – July 15th

Wildcard Qualification: July 16th – July 23rd

ESPL Season 2: July 30th to August 3rd

format

ESPL Season 2 follows a league table format. Teams would need to earn points by winning battle royale matches and achieving eliminations. Points are also awarded based on a team’s final position in a Battle Royale match.

Open qualifiers will include Erangel and Miramar maps. 5 games per day are played for the Open qualification. Invitational qualifiers would include cards from Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi, and Sanhok. 6 games are played per day. Wildcard qualifiers and the ESPL Season 2 tournament will be played 6 games per day on Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi and Sanhok.
