Players to watch:

Charlotte Caslick (Australia)

Charlotte Caslick, one of Australia’s standout actresses on the show for the past nine years, is arguably in the form of her life.

The Olympic champion currently leads the DHL Impact Player Table, which awards points for offloads, carries, line breaks and tackles, with 328 from the five tournaments.

At Langford, Caslick complemented her all-action playstyle with seven tries as Australia secured tournament victory and the 2022 series title.

Australia’s co-captain scored a crucial try in the final against New Zealand when she touched down early in the second half to put her side back in front in a game they would eventually win.

Thalia Costa (Brazil)

Another player in fine form is Brazilian speedster Thalia Costa, who has scored 12 tries in her last eight Series matches.

That run began on day two in Seville in late January, when Costa struck twice in Poland’s narrow 17-15 defeat.

Last weekend in Canada, she crossed the white carpet eight times in just five games, including a hat-trick in Brazil’s Pool B encounter with Japan.

Costa is currently fourth in the try-scoring list for the 2022 series, having scored 21 tries in 24 games all season. She hopes to add a few more to her tally at Toulouse.

Ilona Maher (USA)

Only four players have made more tackles in the 2022 series than US striker Ilona Maher, who was at her best again in Langford.

With a presence on both sides of the ball, Maher made 13 tackles and 21 carries on Vancouver Island to finish the weekend in 10th place at the Langford DHL Impact Player table.

She also came up with crucial tries at crucial moments, scoring en route to sixth place in USA’s victories over Fiji, England and Spain.

She’s one of the most popular players in the series and is sure to carry that form to the south of France later this month.

Amee Leigh Murphy Crowe (Ireland)

The show’s most prolific female Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe ran 12 tries at Langford to bring her season tally to 32.

On day one, Murphy Crowe started with back-to-back hat-tricks against Japan and Brazil and scored all four of Ireland’s tries in defeating France in the bronze medal game.

In her last 14 games in the series, Murphy Crowe has crossed the whitewash 26 times, while scoring three or more tries in five of those appearances.

She recently told World Rugby that her only focus is on helping her team and she certainly is. Aside from her phenomenal batting average, Murphy Crowe is also second to Caslick in the DHL Impact Player chart.

Seraphine Okemba (France)

Séraphine Okemba, one of France’s standout players who secured a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics last July, has brought that form to the 2022 series.

Okemba is currently fourth in the DHL Impact player chart and one of the best players in the world when it comes to keeping the ball alive, having made 23 offloads so far this season.

A strong runner with an eye for a break, she contributed four tries at Langford as France finished fourth.

Okemba and her teammates will be keen to put on a show on home soil. With the 2020 season shortened by COVID-19, France has not hosted a Series tournament since 2019 and the hosts will be looking to get back on the podium in Toulouse.

Reapi Ulunisau (Fiji)

Fijian star Reapi Ulunisau was yet to make her series debut as she helped inspire her country to a bronze medal in Tokyo.

Despite missing the Malaga and Seville tournaments in January due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, Ulunisau was a hit in her first season on the circuit.

At Langford, she led the DHL Impact Players’ table with 13 tackles, eight breaks, nine offloads and 25 carries, while Fiji was seventh.

Ulunisau scored six tries over the weekend to take her tally to 13 in just 16 games and she is looking to end her debut campaign on a high when the series arrives in Toulouse later this month.
