The 49ers open their 2022 pre-season at home against the Packers and we have your betting odds and how to watch the game live.
After (another) tumultuous offseason, the San Francisco 49ers get down to business tonight for the first time since falling short in last February’s NFC Championship game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Granted, Friday night’s match against the Green Bay Packers is a preseason game, so it’s not exactly a high-profile grudge match considering the Niners beat quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Co. in the divisional round of last season’s playoffs have upset.
And with Rodgers unwilling to play in that exhibition fight, the brand of football will look very different to fans than they expected when the regular season kicks off this September.
Still, head coach Kyle Shanahan has told reporters that he will play against some of his starters, including quarterback Trey Lance, who will take the reins as San Francisco’s full-time starter this year.
49ers Injury Report vs. Packers Preseason Week 1
Teams aren’t required to release official injury reports during exhibition games, but here’s what we do know about the Niners’ injury situation.
Cornerback Jason Verrett and tight end Charlie Woerner are both on the Physically Unable-to-Perform (PUP) list and won’t play, while defenseman Maurice Hurst and tight end Jordan Matthews are on injured reserve and likely suffered injuries at season-ending training camp .
Rookie defenseman Kalia Davis, who is recovering from a cruciate ligament tear in college, is on the non-football injury (NFI) list.
Also, cornerbacks Charvarius Ward and Emmanuel Moseley are recovering from minor injuries and are not expected to play.
49ers vs. Packers Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Bet Selection Preseason Week 1
Believe it or not, there are actual betting odds for Friday’s preseason fight between San Francisco and Green Bay.
According to WynnBET oddsmakers, the Niners are 2.5-point home favorites and have a -150 moneyline.
The over/under for the game is currently set at 33.0.
No one cares about preseason bottom line results, but let’s have a little fun and suggest that third-row rookie quarterback Brock Purdy somehow gets the red and gold to victory in a late fourth quarter and San Francisco a 21-17 -gives victory.
