Kentucky Football Fan Day, presented by Big O Tires, returns on August 6th

LEXINGTON, Kentucky – The schedule has been finalized for the Kentucky Football Fan Day presented by Big O Tires, which will take place on Saturday, August 6th.

The main attraction of the popular annual event will be an open practice session on the practice fields at the Joe Craft Football Training Center from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET.

The fan day is open to the public and entry is free. Free parking is available in the blue lot at Kroger Field. Fans can enter the facility from 10:00 am at the practice field gate in the plaza in front of Gate 12 at Kroger Field.

Fans are asked to stay behind the tightrope at the edge of the practice field, which will be controlled by UK events management staff.

Fan Day will also include a call to action for fans to consider contributing the Red Cross to support those affected by the Kentucky floods. Donations enable the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to, and help people recover from the disaster. Signs with QR codes for donations page are posted throughout the facility.

Free Kentucky football posters for the 2022 season presented by Kroger will be available on Fan Day. The UK Bookstore will also sell British merchandise on the square.

Fans can take photos throughout the day with British trophies from the Wildcats’ four consecutive bowl game wins and the Governor’s Cup.

Those present are reminded to think the latest health and safety protocols on the UK campus. Prizes will be awarded throughout the event. Players and coaches also have the opportunity to throw mini-soccer balls and other prizes to those in attendance upon completion of practice.

UK ticketing staff will be on hand to discuss ticket packages for the 2022 season with interested fans.

UK concessions will sell prepackaged snacks and bottled water.

Fan Day takes place on the first Saturday of fall camp, the official start of preparations for the 2022 season. The Wildcats claim their fourth straight bowl win, a thrilling 20-17 win over Iowa in the Citrus Bowl.

The Wildcats begin the 2022 season September 3 at Kroger Field against Miami, Ohio at 7 p.m. ET. The Wildcats travel to Florida on September 10 at 7 p.m. ET for the first Southeastern Conference game of the year. Great Britain returns home to host Youngstown State on September 17 at 12:00 p.m. ET and the SEC’s first home game is on October 8 against South Carolina.
