Bears are hosting the Alister MacKenzie Invitational and will compete in 11 regular-season competitions
BERKELEY – The California men’s golf team’s 2022-23 season schedule was unveiled Friday and features a total of 11 regular-season competitions throughout the fall and spring seasons. In addition to hosting the Alister MacKenzie Invitational at Sonoma Golf Club on October 10-11, the Golden Bears will make five trips to states outside of California during the campaign.
Cal opens the season September 4-5 with the Fighting Irish Classic hosted by Notre Dame at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Indiana. The Bears meet Stanford in the third big match on Sept. 29 at Menlo Country Club; Cal won each of the previous two Big Matches in 2018 and 2019.
Fall continues with a trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the Blessings Collegiate Invitational October 3-5 at Blessings Golf Club. After hosting the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in Sonoma on October 10-11 for the first time since 2019, the Bears will conclude their fall season October 23-25 at UCF’s Isleworth Collegiate (Isleworth Country Club) in Windermere, Florida.
Cal will kick off calendar 2023 with the Arizona Intercollegiate January 30-31 at Tucson Country Club. The only tournament scheduled for the month of February takes the Bears to the John A. Burns Intercollegiate on February 16-18 at the Hokuala Ocean Course in Lihue, Hawaii. Cal will compete March 6-7 at the San Diego Classic at the San Diego Country Club and March 30-April 1 at The Goodwin, hosted annually by Stanford at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.
The final month of the regular season heats up with short trips to Santa Cruz for San Jose State’s Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club (April 10-12) and UC Davis’ El Macero Classic April 14-16. April up. The Bears will then meet with their conference brethren April 27-30 for the Pac-12 Championship being hosted at Stanford Golf Course at The Farm.
NCAA Regional Play will be held at various locations May 15-17, followed by the 2023 NCAA Championship May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
