Mindhunter Star Lands Next Movie Role in Mission: Impossible 8

mind hunter‘s Holt McCallany has landed a role in Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2.

McCallany, best known for his role as FBI Special Agent Bill Tench on the Netflix drama series, will reportedly be part of the eighth installment in the franchise meeting.

McCallany will play Secretary of Defense Bernstein, but that’s all we know about his role – we’ll have to wait a while to find out what he’s up to as there’s a whole other movie to watch first.

The upcoming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning will be split into two chapters to be published a year apart, with the first coming out next summer and the second in 2024.

Cruise, of course, returns as IMF agent Ethan Hunt and is joined by a star cast including Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, The crown‘s Vanessa Kirby and dune‘s Rebecca Ferguson, but the storyline is being kept under wraps for now.

McCallany isn’t the only new face to join and appear in the franchise dead reckoning includes MCU stars Pom Klementieff and Hayley Atwell as well sherlock‘s Mark Gatiss and game of Thrones and Obi Wan Kenobiis Indira Varma.

The two-parter will likely be Cruise’s last as Ethan Hunt as reported in February 2022, the two films will serve as the “pinnacle” of the franchise.

However, there hasn’t been any official word that this is the beginning of the end, but the fact that the films were shot back-to-back might give a hint that fans might be saying goodbye to these characters.

Impossible Mission– Dead Reckoning Part One currently has a scheduled release date of July 14, 2023. Second part scheduled for release on June 28, 2024.
