ATHENS, Ohio—The Ohio soccer team completed their first practice session at the Walter Fieldhouse today (3rd August).

“It feels great,” said the head coach Tim Albin. “The kids have shown a lot of energy. We’re really excited.”

The Bobcats are coming off a 3-9 2021 season highlighted by a 35-33 win over rivals Miami. Red Shirt Junior Kurtis Rourke (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) returns for the Bobcats after leading the passing offense. Rourke is joined by All-MAC Honorees Redshirt Senior Bryce Houston (Lewis Center, Ohio) and graduate student Tariq Drake (Leavittsburgh, Ohio). Houston led the team with 104 total tackles, including 53 solo tackles, while Drake finished the season with a team-high three interceptions.

Ohio has 21 practices as part of their fall camp; Times and place are subject to change. Media is allowed every Thursday after practice.

The Bobcats will begin their regular season on Saturday, September 3 at Peden Stadium against Florida Atlantic. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on ESPN+. For ticket information, call the ticket office at 1-800-575-2287 or click here.
