Three-star Syracuse Football 2023 signing LaNorris Sellers said in a recent media report that he is focused on Orange, but some other big programs may be interested in the standout quarterback.
As we discovered earlier this week, the 6ft 2 seller recently shared on Twitter that he plans to make an official visit to the Cuse campus on June 24th.
Sellers, a junior at South Florence High School in Florence, SC, is one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the country on his recruiting cycle.
At one time he was verbally committed to his colleague from the Atlantic Coast Conference, Virginia. But coaching changes at Charlottesville, including offensive coordinator Robert Anae and quarterbacks coach Jason Beck leaving for similar roles at Orange, prompted Sellers to resume recruiting.
Syracuse Football landed a great prospect in three-star quarterback LaNorris Sellers.
In mid-January, the ‘Cuse coaching staff offered Sellers a stipend and he signed to Orange in early March.
During his recruitment process, he has received other offers from teams such as Virginia Tech, Memphis, Washington State, Appalachian State and Georgia State.
In a recent article by Phil Kornblut on sportstalksc.com, it appears college rosters who may be interested in salespeople include South Carolina, Appalachian State, Georgia State, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, Virginia Tech, Ohio State and Notre Dame .
However, I don’t feel like Orange fans should have much concern, as Sellers said in that article: “I’m honestly really focused on Syracuse and if anything comes up, we’ll cross that bridge when the time comes here.” .”
Kornblut noted in his story that Sellers is making a trip to the Hill on June 24, adding, “That’s the only visit he has on the books for June at this point.”
Sellers said in the article on sportstalksc.com that he has a “good relationship” with the Syracuse soccer coaches.
As we have pointed out, as of this writing, both ESPN and On3 recruitment services rank Sellers as one of the top 15 double threat quarterbacks in the 2023 cycle.
He is also ranked as one of the top 700 candidates in this class according to the two recruitment services produced by the industry, the 247Sports Composite and the On3 Consensus.
I am not a recruitment analyst, nor am I associated with the Syracuse football program or the vendors. However, my gut feeling is that his commitment to the Orange is rock solid, even though some heavyweight teams have reached out to Sellers.
