FAIRBURN, Ga. — Georgia high school programs abound with talented players, but few rival Langston Hughes for top-level prospects.
Located southwest of Atlanta, it was just one play away from winning the Georgia 6A State Championship last season. Aware of the talent for Langston Hughes, Ole Miss makes efforts to recruit some of these young men. Here’s a rundown of some of the prospects that Rebels fans should know about. The list starts with a very unique skill player.
Terrance Love, ATH – Born 2023
Love is a great skill player. What position does he play now? Taking this point directly with Love, it’s a mixed bag of opinions from college coaches. Love made it clear that some schools like him on offense, some on defense, and some just want to get the talented prospect on their campus before making a decision. He is currently 6ft 3in tall and weighs approximately 205lbs. He could end up at safety, linebacker, wide receiver, or even a flex tight end. He possesses good hands, so receiving a threat is definitely intriguing among other options.
Among the programs that this young man originally offered before his gentle commitment after Auburn, they would include Ole Miss, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi State, Kentucky, LSU, and Texas A&M, among others. Love’s positional flexibility has certainly led to many of these offers, and he’s still considering official visit opportunities. There are two he wants to take in addition to Auburn. Ole Miss and Arkansas are the two programs to watch with love. Overall, he still plans to make all five of his official visits, so there’s still a long way to go before this young man’s ministries.
Jelani Thurmon, Flex Tight End – 2023
Thurmon’s raw athleticism is hard to match. Seeing him slice, stop and start, use his blockers during scripts and just run flat out during practice on Monday shows the versatility of this talented class of 2023 prospects. In fact, he is very similar to current rebel Michael Trigg. Ole Miss is one of many programs that have already offered Thurmon a scholarship.
Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Oregon provide a coast-to-coast overview of its offerings. It’s a long, long way to Thurmon’s signature, but the program that lands this young man will be given a weapon that will be difficult for defense attorneys to wield.
Bo Hughley, offensive tackle – 2023

Bo Hughley is a massive offensive tackle that could help just about any college football program.

Many programs stopped recruiting the big man after he made a promise to Georgia, but he’s not necessarily done with his recruitment. Ole Miss, Arkansas, UCF and many others are still possible official visits. Much remains to be clarified.

Hughley’s enlistment is probably Langston Hughes’ murkiest, because honestly, Georgia is such a coveted offer, and that’s “State U.” from the prospects at Langston Hughes. Still, keep an eye on this young man. He might visit later, and Ole Miss might be an option.
Prentice “Air” Noland, Quarterback – 2024

Prentice “Air” Noland is an aspiring junior quarterback nearing 20 scholarship offers.
The Grove Report Staff
This is the player who has such a huge cap that it’s hard to imagine how many offers he’ll end up getting. Noland is a slick southpaw who led Langston Hughes’ attack in 2021 and he’s bigger and stronger now after an offseason in the weight room. He’s also one of the more cunning quarterbacks you’ll find, doing an excellent job of executing fakes and using his eyes to move defenders away from his intended receiver.
The 6ft 3in, 190lb Noland threw several excellent passes to all levels of the field during Monday’s scrimmage action. He looks a lot more comfortable than he did last year. In addition, his arm strength is also significantly different. It has led to several offers including one from Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss.
In addition to the Rebels, some of the schools that Noland mentioned and has on his radar and has an offer from include: “West Virginia, Auburn, Wake Forest, Arkansas, UCF, Utah, there’s another one.” few more schools… georgia tech, duke. Ole Miss, they’re in there.”
Wake Forest, Auburn, West Virginia and UCF were listed as the programs that recruited him the hardest. Again, this is a 2024 prospect, so more time is needed to evaluate and meet trainers and vice versa. Noland plans to take summer trips and possibly go camping somewhere as well.
There are other prospects for Langston Hughes such as running back Justus Savage (Class of 2024) just transferred to the program, plus defensive tackle Joshua Horton (class of 2023) and others.

With a program as talented as Langston Hughes, there are almost always a few newcomers, like running back Justus Savage.
The Grove Report Staff
Overall, this is just a portion of what is available at the nearby Atlanta High School program. With all the talent there, Ole Miss can certainly do well if it taps into Langston Hughes’ talent pool.
