Pittsburg (California) Quarterback Jaden Rashada was touring across the country this spring and also secured his seat in the Elite 11 Finals after a strong performance against the best passers in Las Vegas. Over the weekend, Rashada made his way to Eugene for an unofficial visit to Oregon, an important trip after the Ducks were unable to get him on campus for the spring game.

Here’s what I was told about the visit from a source close to Rashada’s recruitment. It’s not much, but I’m trying to give you the best I can collect.
The visit went well for Rashada and during the trip he was able to spend time with Dan Lanning, a positive development since Kenny Dillingham was the lead recruiter at Oregon’s Pursuit after his appointment.
I was told that Florida will get an official visit from Rashada after the Gators were offered in early April. Florida has done VERY well on this recruitment and is a serious contender to watch.

Torres’ take
It’s been good for Oregon to bring Rashada back to campus, especially in an unofficial capacity as they push for an official visit next month. Visually, it’s another good sign that he’s reduced his list of schools to seven right after the trip, meaning he’s seen what it takes to know which schools are real contenders.
Spending time with Lanning was very important as many top recruits desire a strong relationship with their future head coach.
However, the more I delve into this recruitment, the more it feels like Ole Miss could be in the driver’s seat after his first official visit in late April. Texas A&M’s offer certainly makes that offer interesting, and I’ve heard repeatedly that he’s very fascinated with the big football that comes with playing in the SEC, as further evidenced by his recent visits to LSU, Ole Miss and Arkansas has since landed a quarterback and is eliminated.
Texas A&M is likely to get one of its four remaining official visits. That leaves Florida third and two more up for grabs, with Oregon, LSU and Miami battling to get him back on campus ahead of his signing, which is slated for June 18.

The timing of officers will be another factor to monitor as we all know how important that final visit leading to a commitment can be. Rashada is one of the key recruits for the Ducks in 2023, not only because he’s a quarterback, but also because he’s a top West Coast contender in California, a state that has remained Oregon’s despite the recent invasion of other top national programs Should be sweet spot.
The Ducks are also heavily recruiting the Detroit quarterback Dante Moore, who recently made trips to Oregon, LSU, Notre Dame and Florida this spring. Notre Dame has been viewed as a favorite for this recruitment for a time, and Moore has yet to set a commitment date.
Oregon has also begun offering other quarterbacks in the 2023 class, such as AveryJohnson from Wichita, Kansas and Aidan Chiles from Downey in Southern California.
Chiles was named Quarterback MVP at the recent ESPN Elite Underclassmen Camp in Oakland over the weekend, and Johnson said the Ducks would receive an official visit after Elite 11 Camp in Nashville. We’ll have more about him later today.
