This is the final edition of the 2022 Philadelphia Eagles schedule and prediction of their overall wins and losses. We’ll be looking at weeks 15-18 in this edition, where the Eagles have two conference games and two out-of-conference games.
Week 15 on Bears, 12/18, FOX, 1 p.m
The Eagles will be back on the road for a Week 15 game against the Chicago Bears. This is an interesting game for Philadelphia as they face the Cowboys in Dallas next week who could very well decide the NFC East. This is a trap game for the Eagles. They face a Chicago team that isn’t expected to set the world on fire in 2022. However, they have the potential to beat some good teams and could potentially throw a curveball in the Eagles’ season.
Justin Fields is entering his second season after a below-par rookie year. He threw for under 2,000 yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. However, he ran the ball well with 420 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He will have a lot to prove in his second season. Philadelphia just needs to focus on the bears and avoid disappointment in Week 15. The Eagles will win this game with their offensive firepower, but this game will be uncomfortably close for Eagles fans.
Eagles win: 27-17
Week 16 at Cowboys, 12/24, FOX, 4:25
The best Christmas present the Eagles could give would be to beat this Cowboys team on the street in a meaningful game. As previously mentioned, this game could very well decide the NFC East Division. At the start of this series, it was predicted that the Eagles would win the first matchup against the Cowboys in Philadelphia, but could they make it twice? It’s definitely possible how much potential the Eagles have on offense and defense to be great.
This game boils down to the Eagles’ defense limiting the Cowboys’ offense to a minimal number of points. This must be accomplished by pressuring Prescott and not allowing many explosive plays for the Cowboys on the offensive side of the ball. The Eagles offense only needs to play one play at a time. Also, Hurts is likely to make mistakes in this game, but he’s staying calm. Philadelphia can’t be one-dimensional on offense like they were for most of last season. The Eagles need to diversify both passing and rushing the ball in this game. So who will win this game? In this case, the edge goes to the cowboys. A seasoned quarterback, Prescott has more experience in big-game situations. Additionally, this game is in front of a raucous Dallas crowd.
Lose Eagles: 21-27
Week 17 vs Saints, 1/1, FOX, 1 p.m
After a disappointing loss in Week 16, the next game on the Eagles’ 2022 schedule will be played at home in Week 17 against the Saints. The Saints are another team that has potential in 2022. Jameis Winston is expected to lead the Saints this season. His 2021 season was cut short after suffering a season-ending back injury in Week 7 against Tampa Bay. Before that injury, he got off to a good start as he led the Saints to a 5-2 record. He also had just over 1,000 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions. Additionally, the Saints are expected to get back one of their top receivers in Michael Thomas, who hasn’t made an NFL snap since 2020. In addition, the Saints also promote Tyrann Mathieu, Cameron Jordan and Demario Davis on defense.
This sets the stage for another late-season disappointment for this Eagles team, and that’s exactly what’s predicted for this Week 17 matchup. New Orleans will have a good team in 2022 and has great potential to be a playoff team.
Lose Eagles: 17-24
Week 18 vs. Giants, 1/8, TBD
The Eagles will go into their final game after three tough periods. Luckily, their last home game will be against the New York Giants. This is a chance for the Eagles to end the season with momentum and prepare for a possible playoff game. This game might not even feature many starters if the playoff drama is over by that point. This game is predicted with the Eagles starters intact, however, as it is unknown what the playoff picture will be.
Philadelphia will go crazy in this game after two straight losses. The Eagles are predicted to blow out the Giants in this game and end their season on a strong note.
Eagles win: 38-10
This concludes predicting the Eagles’ record win-loss based on their 2022 schedule. The Eagles are predicted to end the season with a solid 11-6 record with a potential playoff spot looking likely.
