Shah Rukh Khan takes a break from hectic schedule with Alia Bhatt’s darlings and snacks

Alia Bhatt’s debut production project, Darlings, launched today on Netflix and the actress has been praised by fans and critics alike. The film, co-produced by Alias Eternal Sunshine Productions and Shah Rukh Khan-Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, stars Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in key roles alongside Alia. Following the release, King Khan, who has always supported Alia, shared on social media that he will spend his day off watching the film.

The actor was in London to shoot for his film Dunki and recently returned to Mumbai. SRK tweeted: “I’ve been working non-stop for the past few days…so had to indulge in my favorite pastime…’the love of myself’ and to spoil myself I’ll spend the day with Prabhuji / Thums up and #DARLINGS (this is not an endorsement, just ‘mees spoil me on a day off….’)”

Just look:

When the film’s trailer was unveiled, SRK took to Twitter to write a thank you note for Alia. His tweet for her read: “Little ones, I’m also so concerned that you’ve shared responsibility for Eternal Sunshine Productions’ first film with me… that I’ll be biting my nails until it gets released. But I think we have a beautiful film and you are the soul and sunshine of all things darlings.”

News18 Showsha’s review of Darlings reads, “Although the film is a dark comedy, it lacks an elaborate or hilarious comic scene and remains largely an emotional affair. The production design and attention to detail are commendable, as is the pacing of the editing. Director Jasmeet K Reen did a good job of telling the story without causing too many complications, while at the same time maintaining a sense of dread throughout the narration. Some of the well directed scenes are the build up of episodes of violence between Hamza and Badru. Darlings has good situational songs like La Ilaaj, Bhasad and Pleaj that capture the mood pretty well.”
