Outstanding partnerships, a world-class digital team, on-air talent, experts and special guests have come together to capture the excitement of Georgia high school football this past season. Now, more games, world-class events, support and features are setting the stage for an unforgettable 2022 lineup.
On Thursday night’s broadcast, 247Sports recruiting expert Rusty Mansell will call out parts of the game on the sidelines with the coaches and players and the head coaches will be wearing microphones and there will be cameras in the group.
“Since agreeing to be on Score Atlanta and CBS46, I’ve made it clear that I think we need to make sure we can show the college football of tomorrow,” Mansell said. “I think the key to our early success is finding those games with multiple high quality players. It was also important to me that we are willing to go anywhere in the state of Georgia to showcase the great talent of the state and what it continues to produce.”
Thursday’s jamboree will be the first-ever televised spring scrimmage in Georgia High School football, and it’s also a fitting opportunity to celebrate everything this year with Score Atlanta and Peachtree TV’s unprecedented 35-game roster , including the two scrimmages, will come while all highlighting the excitement surrounding the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame ahead of their October induction ceremony on Oct. 22 at the College Football Hall of Fame. In fact, on Thursday viewers will have a chance to see the first batch of names that will go to the top 100 choice. These name releases will take place during Thursday’s broadcast and four players will be announced from each of the past seven decades: 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and the segregated Georgia Interscholastic Association (1948-69). The GIA consisted of all African American schools.
“We’re about celebrating high school football from the past to the present,” said IJ Rosenberg, President of Score Atlanta. “The 2.5 hours of television on Peachtree TV gives everyone a good look at four very strong high school programs. But at the same time, we’ll begin to unveil our ballot for the inaugural class of Georgia High School’s Football Hall of Fame. The full 100-player vote, to be announced in June, will begin to tell you the story of Georgia high school football. Our Board of Directors has worked hard to set the standards that a player must meet in order to be accepted. There are hundreds of names, many you’ve heard of and some you haven’t, that will stand a chance at this honor over the years. We’ll also have a big announcement Thursday night about what we’re going to do with the nine Georgia high school players inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. I hope everyone tunes in because we’re going to have a lot of fun at North Gwinnett.”
