Starting line-up, TV program for the Sunday race

Kevin Harvick’s win at Michigan brought the number of winning drivers in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season to 15, leaving a wildcard finish with three regular-season races remaining.

First the short track at Richmond where Denny Hamlin passed Harvick as the two shot through the field on new tires during the final heat. The favorite for Sunday’s race, according to BetMGM, is Martin Truex Jr., who was pushed out of the playoff picture by Harvick’s win as a driver.

Truex Jr. is 19 points behind Ryan Blaney in the regular-season standings for the last wildcard spot. Blaney is second in the regular season and Truex is fourth. But neither has a win, and neither can secure a playoff spot with a win over the next three weekends.

It’s going to be a fun August.
