When asked about her next project, Sweeney revealed, translated from Chinese to English: “I’m about to start filming ‘Madame Web’ with Dakota Johnson! I am very excited to start this journey with her and look forward to showing you all my accomplishments!”

Johnson was announced earlier this year as the lead in the solo superhero film, with Sweeney co-starring. Originally introduced in The Incredible Spiderman Comics, Madame Web is commonly depicted as a blind, psychic, and precognitive mutant who, in her first story, helps Spider-Man find a kidnapping victim.

The film “Madame Web” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 7, 2023.

Also in the interview, Sweeney talks about what excites her about acting, stating, “Connecting with others, learning and experiencing different lives, and making people feel through the characters. Acting allows me to meet a lot of people that I haven’t been able to meet.”

Looking ahead to Season 2 of Euphoria and where her character has gone, the actress says, “I definitely experienced a lot on Euphoria, growing up, learning a lot from other cast and crew, and getting a lot of feedback from fans. I’m honored to work with this incredible group and everyone’s efforts are reflected in what fans see.”

She adds: “I try to separate myself from my character as much as possible. Her memories aren’t mine, nor are her favorite colors or music, so I can really travel back and forth between the character and myself.”

In 2020, Sweeney announced the formation of her own production company, Fifty-Fifty Films, which has announced a number of projects including a series called The Players Table, starring Halsey.

“I’ve been developing projects and collecting intellectual property, and there are a lot of shows and films in the works,” she says of her work for the company. “If I’m reading a book or hearing a story that interests me and I want to see it on screen, it’s the right story. I want to create as many stories and characters as possible for humans. It’s a long and difficult process, but I love being challenged.”

My parents always told me that if I want to achieve what I want, I have to work hard every day,” says Sweeney of the support she has received from her parents throughout her career. “I may be rejected, but my reactions and actions will determine the future. They’ve supported me as an actor, but only when academics still came first, and it always has.”

When asked what she would study if she could go back to school, she adds: “I think if I had time to go to school for the rest of my life I would study as much as I could. Economics, law, psychology, literature, mathematics, etc. If it were possible, I would be interested.”

Sweeney has also been training mixed martial arts for years.

“I’ve been doing this since middle school!” she says. “It taught me discipline and strength. Today, I still train as hard as I used to, but just don’t compete. I exercise, run and exercise a lot every week.”

Finally asked what her dream role would be, Sweeney says. “Perhaps a protagonist in a Nicholas Sparks novel. I am an absolute romantic.”
