It’s going to be a pretty busy summer for Syracuse football as it’s as much about the team’s recruiting efforts as it is about welcoming high school prospects to the mound.
According to his Twitter page, LaNorris Sellers is set to sign three stars in 2023 is planning an official visit to the Orange on June 24thwhich is exciting to hear.
The 6-foot-2 Sellers, a junior at South Florence High School in Florence, SC, is one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation in his class.

Syracuse Football will welcome QB signee LaNorris Sellers to Central New York next month.
In addition to vendors, there are numerous recruitment targets anticipating heading to ‘Cuse in June. Two of these high school prospects that we’ve recently identified are 2023 3-star linebacker Zyian Moultrie-Goddard from Iona Preparatory School in New Rochelle, NY and 2023 3-star offensive lineman Eric King at Saint Peter’s Preparatory School in Jersey City. Returning to Sellers, he had previously made a verbal commitment to Atlantic Coast Conference member Virginia. However, at the end of the 2021 college football campaign, Cavaliers head coach Bronco Mendenhall resigned.
Additionally, UVA offense coordinator Robert Anae and quarterbacks coach Jason Beck left that roster to fill similar roles in Syracuse football.
The Orange coaching staff offered a stipend to Sellers, who had resumed recruitment, in mid-January. He then committed to Syracuse football and announced his pick on March 6 via Twitter.
During his recruitment process, Sellers had received offers from Virginia Tech, Memphis, Washington State, Appalachian State, and Georgia State in addition to ‘Cuse and Virginia.
Both ESPN and On3 rank him as a top 15 quarterback in the 2023 cycle. Virtually all major recruiting services rank him in the top 10 players in South Carolina.
The two industry-created recruitment services, the 247Sports Composite and the On3 Consensus, placed him in that class nationally.
The 247Sports Composite ranked Sellers 642nd overall at the time of writing, while the On3 Consensus ranked him 656th nationally.
I’m thrilled that LaNorris Sellers will be heading to the Hill in a few weeks!
