The Spiritual Sequel to Roger Rabbit and 7 more movies and shows to watch this weekend

Not sure what to watch this weekend? We’ve got you covered…

Another week, another packed schedule of new movies and shows to watch in cinemas and at home.

To kick things off, here are the films, all of which will be hitting the big screens across Ireland from Friday 20th May.

THE INNOCENT

Continuing the “If You’re Looking For Something Very Different” spirit, this Nordic chiller watches a group of young kids from a series of high-rise developments become close friends, only to discover some of them are gifted with supernatural powers. And not all of them plan to use them forever…

ALL EVERYWHERE AT ONCE

This actually came out last week, but there was a last-minute snafu with the release schedule, so we’re putting it on this week’s list. The highest rated film of the decade! Michelle Yeoh plays an office worker who is inexplicably drawn into a multidimensional struggle for survival. Check out the trailer below and tell us it doesn’t look stunning. And now for the stuff to see at home this week, starting with…

The show is available to watch now on Amazon Prime Video.

LIFE & BETH

When she gets a little wake up call, Beth (Amy Schumer) decides to do something drastic to shake things up in her happy but boring life. 91% on Rotten Tomatoes if you’re thinking about whether that could be good or not, because apparently it is.

All episodes of the first season are now available to watch on Disney+.

LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS – VOLUME 3

Uncanny worlds, violent pleasures, and twisted footsteps await you in the third volume of the Emmy-winning animated anthology from Tim Miller and David Fincher.

All episodes of the new season can be seen on Netflix from Friday, May 20th.

CHIP ‘N’ DALE: RESCUE RANGER

A film based on the popular animated duo, with Andy Samberg and John Mulaney voicing the central duo, backed by an all-star cast including Will Arnett, Eric Bana, JK Simmons, Chris Parnell, Keegan-Michael Key and Seth Rogen. Check out the trailer below and tell us doesn’t it feel like a modern day tricked by Roger Rabbit? …

The film is available to see on Disney+ starting Friday, May 20.

NIGHT SKY

Academy Award-winners Sissy Spacek and JK Simmons direct this mysterious sci-fi series about a couple who discover a transport portal on their land and have kept it secret for decades, only for things to take a turn when a stranger appears and start asking questions…

All eight episodes will air Friday, May 20th on Amazon Prime Video.

HALLOWEEN KILLEN

The middle entry in the new Halloween trilogy before it all comes to an end once and for all, with the aptly titled Halloween Ends out this October. Before that, check out Michael Myers as he brings chaos to a sleepy town again on October 31st.
